Hello dear readers, this is a quick news flash. Something that could not be very alarming, but at the same time it could be very alarming. Let me go right to it.

Let me give a brief summary of what is going on right now with their own quotes and also what "ebola" is.
- There have been 20 known cases so far, and 14 deaths, starting in early July with a pregnant woman in the Kibaale district, then eight relatives who attended her funeral. It also killed her nurse, and the nurse's baby. (NewScientist)
- The fatal case in Kampala was a health worker who "had attended to the dead at Kagadi hospital" in Kibale, Health Minister Christine Ondoa told reporters. She is believed to have travelled independently to Kampala (capital of Uganda)-- possibly on public transport -- after her three-month old baby died, Ondoa added. (Yahoo news)
- Health officials said at least 20 people had been infected and of those 14 had died. There is no treatment or vaccine against Ebola, which is transmitted by close personal contact and, depending on the strain, can kill up to 90% of those who contract the virus. (The Guardian news)
- The WHO describes Ebola as "a viral haemorrhagic fever and one of the most virulent diseases known to humankind".
Symptoms include sudden fever, intense weakness, muscle pain, headache and sore throat, followed by vomiting, diarrhoea, rashes, impaired kidney and liver function and bleeding.

- People infected with Ebola usually have flu-like symptoms at first. They can then begin bleeding internally and externally as their vital organs shut down. (ABC News)
- "This is very, very important, to trace every contact and to watch them for an incubation period of 21 days," World Health Organization spokesman Gregory Hartl said.
"I therefore appeal to you to be vigilant. Avoid shaking of hands; do not take on burying somebody that has died from symptoms which look like Ebola. Instead, call the health workers to be the ones to do it. And avoid promiscuity because these sicknesses can also go through sex," he said. (CNN News)
The president of Uganda is calling on people in the East African country to avoid physical contact, including handshaking and kissing, to prevent the spread of the deadly and highly contagious Ebola virus that is believed to have killed 14 people in the last few weeks.
The disease has no known cure or vaccine and some strains can kill up to 90 percent of victims within days. Ugandans are so fearful of the disease that residents in Kibaale province where the outbreak was reported said that people immediately fled the hospital after hearing patients with Ebola were there.
In a nationally televised speech today, President Yoweri Museveni said health officials are working to contain the disease to the rural district where the outbreak was confirmed Saturday, but at least one of the suspected victims was taken to a hospital in the capital city of Kampala. Now, nearly two dozen medical workers at Mulago Hospital are being held in isolation. (ABC News)
Ok, so there you have it. First of all, I want to ask everybody to pray for these people. It must be very, very scary to live near an outbreak like this. Not knowing who can be infected, suspecting of anybody who coughs or sneezes, I just can't imagine.
Now, this is all the way in Uganda, Africa. But as you read in the various articles, this is a extremely contagious disease ! I wouldn't be too impossible for this disease to spread to different countries (including ours). So also pray that this outbreak can be controlled. Having a 90% death rate and no cure is something that we do not want to be spread.
The other interesting point that I want to share is that there is a movie that pretty much has every detail of these news articles in it. If you go to wikipedia to research "ebola virus" you will find that the virus is transmitted by bats. And in the movie, that is exactly how the outbreak starts. The movie is called "contagion" and its resemblance with this recent outbreak is striking.
So there, my intention is not to alarm or scare anyone. But to keep these victims in prayer and, to pray for a total control of this disease. I really hope we don't hear to much about this again.
But as a follower of the Messiah, we very well know that this things would happen just before His second coming.

Revelation 6:8 - I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.
This a prophetic verse also, which also has a lot of symbolism in it.
So as we come to the end of things we will see this more often.
But before I end this article I want you to know that no matter what happens to our body, our faith will not die, and the Almighty will give us immortality to live with Him for ever !
