Passover 2012
13 Nissan - 14 Nissan (today)
On the first day of the
Festival of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked,
“Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?”
He replied, “Go
into the city to a certain man and tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My
appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my
disciples at your house.’” So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover. (Matthew 26:17-19)
Today, in the Jewish calendar is 13 Nissan. Just like in the year Jesus celebrated Passover (not easter) with his disciples. It was a Thursday just like today and about this time Jesus was getting ready to eat the "last supper" with his disciples. At sun set, Friday began, Nissan 14 and they sat down to eat.
After eating, Jesus was betrayed by Judas and arrested by the soldiers. Our Lord was ready to fulfill every Messianic prophecy and give his life for the salvation the fallen humanity. Praise Him !!! wherever you are you don't need to follow a ceremony. Just remember these solemn hours and thank Him in your heart. Accept Him if you have not done so. Thank you Jesus !
Let's remember this weekend and think about the last hours of Jesus before his death, and forget about "easter" which is a pagan tradition celebrated many years before Christ named after the goddess of fertility "ishtar". And it has NOTHING to do with Christ ! look it up, just type "pagan origins of easter" and you'll see. What eggs and a bunny has to do with Jesus ????
